Sixth-plate, 1840s daguerreotype photo, nice close-up portrait of a young man, housed in a John Plumbe case. Looks like the tie pin he's wearing is heart-shaped. The note tied to the pad identifies him as Fred H. Dean of Sigourney Street in Hartford, Connecticut. I was able to find a Fred H. Dean living at 37 Sigourney Street in Hartford in 1892.. he was a bookkeeper at that time.
Full case with some wear. The dag has been resealed with archival tape. It is in overall very good antique condition with some tiny mat abrasions.
