Very rare and original CDV of the artist and author Francis Bicknell Carpenter (1830 - 1900), on the left, and his friend Theodore Thornton Munger (1830 -1910), the clergyman, theologian and writer. Carpenter was best known for his portrait of President Lincoln and his family, which is hanging in the United States Capitol. Carpenter also resided with President Lincoln at the White House and in 1866 published his one volume memoir "Six Months at the White House with Abraham Lincoln".
