Two 1/6 plate daguerreotypes, 6 young women and 6 young men.. purchased together, so possibly boyfriends and girlfriends. One special guy in the front is wearing a tinted red shirt.
Both dags are in very good or better antique condition.. tarnish rings, and the underside of their cover glass could use a cleaning. There are a couple of very light scratches on the OUTSIDE of the glass that is casting shadows onto the images, but these are not NOT on the plates. Original seals appearing to be in place, unbroken/intact - though I have not disassembled them to verify this. Under magnification I did note a small mat abrasion tight up against the mat in the upper-right of the girls' dag.. it's very small.
