Original CDV of a floating, transparent baby, photographed by the well-known spirit photographer Mumler. In the background is what I always assumed was a table (also transparent), but another collector who saw this image suggested that it might be the baby's casket.. I hadn't thought of that before, but now I can't un-see it! It would be incredible if so, but I'm not sure - table or casket - what do you think?
The CDV is in very good antique condition. A small section (about 1/2") of the left edge of the image, upper-left side, is slightly lifting from the mount, but it's very minor and totally stable... just thought I should mention it. The image is not super high contrast, but is fine, and the details are perfectly visible. My provided photos were taken with a cell phone camera in average daylight conditions, and uploaded direct to this listing with no enhancing of the image.
