Rare original tintype showing a man in western style dress, cowboy hat, shirt boots, holding a jointed surveyor's chain, or "Gunter's Chain". A rare image.. This is the only tintype of a man holding one of these chains that I have ever owned.

Tintype is about 3.5" x 3.25". Overall in very good antique condition with some soft bends and a heavier one in the upper-left corner.
