Original CDV photo of Mademoiselle Finette (real name Josephine Durwend,) a cancan dancer who performed at the
notorius Bal Mabille dance hall in Paris. She had a reputation for drunkenness.... and was also a prostitute.
This CDV was taken in 1867, the same year she was listed in the courtesans' directory "Les Joyeuses Dames de Paris".
Those black spots in the background are age-related, but the one on her upper lip was a natural "beauty mark" that
she would enlarge with makeup when performing.
Minus the small spots mentioned, this rare CDV is in very good or better antique condition. Dimensions are 4" x 2.5".
