Original photograph of Niagara Falls. If you look close there is a group of people standing right near the edge of the falls.
Rare size and style, measuring about 7.25" square, and mounted on very heavy, triple thick stock with beveled edges.
Blank back / no photographer, though I have been informed that the photographer was likely Nielson... in my research I have seen other photos of Niagara, in this same size and style, taken by C.H. Nielson and H.F. Nielson & Co., so that is probably accurate. The other Nielson examples I have seen were estimated to have been taken in the 1880s to circa 1890.
This image is in very good antique condition overall with light age-related wear. The back is clean and undamaged. My watermark is just on my scan, it's not on the original image.
