Original CDV of Ida Lewis (1842-1911) , with studio imprint of Manchester Bros., Providence, Rhode Island. Lewis was the lighthouse keeper at Lime Rock Light, off coast of Newport, RI, who saved 22 people. In 1924, Rhode Island legislature officially changed the name of Lime Rock to Ida Lewis Rock in honor of her extraordinary keeper services.
CDV is in very good antique condition, and measures 4" x 2.5". The 7301 is just an inventory watermark and is NOT on the original image that you will receive.
