Very rare, original CDV portrait of Ratu Seru Epenisa Cakobau (1815-1883), a 19th-century Fijian chief and warlord, Chase's Honolulu, HI backmark. Cakobau united his country's warring tribes under his leadership and reigned as Tui Viti ( King of Fiji ) from 5 June 1871 to 10 October 1874 , when he ceded his country to Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom. Dimensions are 4" x 2.5". Very good antique condition, as shown.
