Rare original CDV of Calle Mercaderes, a market street in Lima, Peru, photographed around the time of the American Civil War.
Lots of buildings, including a blurred flag above one of them - I believe there was an American embassy on that street, so possibly it's an American Flag - and people moving about on the sidewalks, some blurred as they walked. In the middle of the street it
looks like a group of burros gathered around something.. a large trough, maybe?
Photographed by the Courret brothers, who were from France, and operated in Peru and Bolivia in the 1860s and 70s. Published by Felix Nadar, France.
4" x 2.5". Very good vintage condition. My "Mord" watermark is not on the original that you will receive.
Shipping: Choice of First Class (photo mailer) or boxed Priority Mail.
