I don't know who the photographer was, but I have seen dags with this same backdrop inside of a Plumbe case (besides this one), and a Mathew Brady case.
Dag is unsealed behind heavy glass and has a tarnish ring and tarnish. There are some light scratches and very light surface marks, which are a lot more visible in my scan than they are in person.... I can see the scratches if I tilt the dag around, and cannot see any other issues unless I examine carefully under magnification. The case is complete and intact, though the leather on the back half is lifting a bit.
Photo #1 was taken with my cell phone, with flash, and uploaded direct to this listing with no image enhancements applied. Despite the minor issues this is a really nice image in hand. I left it unsealed, but the new owner should reseal it, which will help it fit securely in the case... it's fairly snug now but should be handled with care or the glass might fall out.
