Original 6th plate daguerreotype, group of 11 men. No location or IDs, but this was purchased along with a few other daguerreotypes, one of which was taken by Edward Jacobs of New Orleans... so this image having been taken in the New Orleans area or in the state of Louisiana, is a possibility, and could be a clue in helping ID these men. But again, the location is not positively known.

Dag is unsealed in half of its original case. Tarnish ring, abrasions and scratches, corrosion spot in the lower-right, all as shown. Also two or three light dings. Apparently it was without cover glass at some point. I placed a new piece of cover glass on; the mat is original to the image so far as I know.
