Original c.1900 cabinet photo showing a smiling Native American woman wearing a papoose on her back, next to a small child.
A street is visible in the background, with a readable, "Model Bakery" sign. The wall of the building to the left is covered with great signs, advertising a variety of shows including "A Hindoo Hoodoo" at the Opera House.
On the back the woman is identified in pencil as,"Mrs. R J & Son Pocatello, Idaho". She was likely from the Shoshone-Bannock tribe from the nearby Fort Hall Indian Reservation.
Mount measures 4.25" x 3.75". Other than the writing the back is blank.. no photographer listed.
Very good antique condition.
