Quarter-plate ambrotype photo of two young women, probably sisters. The girl on the left has hand-painted gold highlights on her brooch and chain; the girl on the right is holding a book. There is no photographer or IDs of the sitters, but this was purchased out of a Virginia estate.
This ambrotype comes WITH NO CASE. But will be packed carefully. I can probably find another case for it if you need one- contact me before purchasing.
Very good antique condition. A couple of tiny mat abrasions and a few tiny nicks above the girl on the left's head, otherwise in excellent condition. Case is worn with separated but matching covers. This is a clear glass ambrotype with a blank iron sheet in the case behind the image.
