Tintype of a young man, in its original union case. Based on other photos picked up with this, he might have been a member of the Stone family of New York City. Case is about 2" x 1.75" when closed. On the back of the tintype is a Civil War revenue stamp, initialed and dated 1865 by the photographer. The case has one or two tiny nicks but is in overall very good antique condition.. clicks and stays closed, tight hinge, manufacturer's label still inside. The tintype has a couple of light bends and is NOT behind glass.
