1850s ambrotype photo of a little boy in a flat cap holding his dog by a leash! The boy's cheeks are lightly tinted, and there is still some light coloring on the dog's coat.
1/9 photo in full case, measuring 3" x 2.5" when closed. Case is very good vintage overall, though the covers are separated along the spine.
Ambrotype appears excellent. There are a couple of small background spots, and one or two tiny mat abrasions. The back of the glass is painted black.
