Original circa 1849 half-plate daguerreotype portrait of fashionable woman holding a small book.
She's wearing one glove, and her other glove has been placed on the table. To me she resembles the
poet Phoebe Cary, but is unidentified.
Full velvet "Token" case, with Fontayne & Porter's Cincinnati studio on the pad. Case is 6" x 5"
when closed and is excellent condition, as is the dag. The dag has its original intact seals.
Glass is a little foggy, but other than a small spot of tarnish or two, I see no issues whatsoever
with the plate. All of the stuff in the upper-right / right side is on the glass, and exaggerated
by my camera flash.
