Quarter-plate daguerreotype of Mary Luke Morris Ellis (1803-1884), by Broadbent. Mary was from the prominent Morris family of Philadelphia, who were Quakers. Her father was a master builder in the city, Luke Wistar Morris, and her husband was Charles Ellis, a druggist who help found the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, serving as its fourth president.

Dag is sealed in full case with separated covers, and is in VG antique condition.
