4" x 2.5" CDV with a cancelled 1864 revenue stamp on the back, showing a painted portrait of William Young, who was born in Ayrshire, Scotland on June 17, 1755, came to America in 1784, and died in Philadelphia on May 12, 1829. After immigrating to America, Young established a paper mill in Wilmington, Delaware, and later published a newspaper in Philadelphia, where he was buried in 1829. He is now buried in Wilmington, Delaware, after being transferred from his original burial location.
