Original 4" x 2.5" CDV, signed on the front in period ink: "Yours affectionately, John Dickinson, M.D" and on the back: "1st Asst Surgeon 36th Regt O.V.I U.S.A". Dickinson served as Assistant Surgeon with the 36th Ohio Volunteer Infantry (OVI) and was promoted to Full Surgeon on March 18, 1865.Mustered out on 18 Dec 1865 at Washington, DC.

Very good antique condition overall.. light foxing. Tiny cut or tear in the left margin, doesn't touch or affect the image in any way.
