Very rare, original CDV of the Northern California Gold Rush mining town Canon City, established 1861 after gold deposits were found in Canon Creek. Town lasted for about 30 years, and is now a ghost town. The town had a blacksmith shop, two stores, two hotels, one temperance hall, one bakery, two billiard saloons, two express houses, two sawmills, a post office, and a one-room school.

This is not an image you're likely to see again any time soon, if ever!

CDV is 4" x 2.5" and in very good antique condition.. a couple of short surface crinkles.. very light, didn't show up on my scan and do not jump out or detract from the image in any way when viewing in person. The back is blank and undamaged with light age spots.
