Original c.1870 CDV of Kaʻahumanu (March 17, 1768 – June 5, 1832) queen consort and regent of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi as Kuhina Nui. She was the favorite wife of King Kamehameha I. This scene shows her sitting on a rug with her servant, probably photographed from a lithograph after the painting by Louis Choris.
