Half-plate daguerreotype of Estella Lugar West (1839-1920) and her brother John (1844-1893), shown in his cadet school uniform. Identified, along with their ages, with a period note, that is included. They were the children of Rodney Parker Lugar (or LuGar) and were living in New York City at this time. Rodney's dag is available in a separate listing.

John enlisted in the Civil War as an 18-year old, serving in the 83rd NY Infantry.

Dag has a tarnish ring but appears to be in very good condition. I have not taken it out of its case but suspect that the seals are broken. The case covers are separated along the spine.
