Half plate, 1850s daguerreotype of a handsome well-dressed man. Mat is stamped CD FREDRICKS, 585 BROADWAY.
Full, push-button, pebbled leather case. Closed, case is about 6" x 5".
Dag is in very good condition with new archival seals. Tarnish ring, and scattered small spots of tarnish and mold spiders. No mat abrasions, scratches or dings noted, though there is what looks like a very very light swipe on his coat that is very hard to see, even when looking at it - possibly a buff mark? Case is intact and complete, with some wear. There is a small hole above the clasp (not unlike what you commonly find on thermoplastic cases), some leather is gone from the spine, and there are a couple of weak but stable rail corners.
