Original half-plate daguerreotype of a fashionable woman, in its complete and original push-button pebbled leather case. Convex glass. Excellent condition, with original, intact paper seals.
Photographed by the pioneering daguerreotypist John Adams Whipple in the first half of the 1850s, at his Boston studio on Washington Street.
The plate is in completely undamaged and in excellent condition. The specks in the scan are on the underside of the glass. The case is complete and in excellent vintage condition. It measures 6" x 4.75" when closed.
