Very rare and original, large cabinet card (9.75" x 6.75", "Imperial" Mount) of Granville Stuart, (August 27, 1834 – October 2, 1918) "a pioneer, gold prospector, businessman, civic leader, vigilante, author, cattleman and diplomat who played a prominent role in the early history of Montana Territory and the state of Montana" (Wikipedia).
Signed on the back in period ink to W. I. Buchanan, with compliments, February 19, 1896. William Insco Buchanan was an American diplomat. I purchased a large collection of photos of notable people, many of which were signed to him. This image is dated by Stuart 1896, though I believe it was made several years earlier than that.
Studio imprint of Miles City, Montana photographer Huffman, this image is in very good or better antique condition with only light aging.
Well-packed, BOXED & signed Priority Express Mail. Next business day shipping, tracking number provided.
