Original circa 1870 tintype of a mustached fireman seated in an 1860s fringed posing
chair. He has a large star patch sewn on his jacket (was he a fire chief?) and number 2
patches sewn on each shoulder. His belt buckle reads, "MARLBORO 2".
I believe this is Marlboro Township New Jersey.. there is a Marlboro in New York, but I
don't believe their station was established until many years after this tintype was made.
Tintype measures approximately 3.5" x 2.5", and is in excellent antique condition. There
are no bends, some light surface wear mostly visible under magnification, or when the
scan is enlarged, otherwise looks super nice in hand.
Shipping: Boxed Priority Mail.
