Hunter posed with his kill (deer or maybe a ram?), holding a knife, with his rifle propped in the background. Original 1850s quarter-plate ambrotype in half of a case. The inside lining is the case is black, shiny material making it a bit hard to photograph for this listing; placing a piece of black velvet or paper in the case will fix any issues with liner reflections.
The ambro is in overall very good antique condition. I took photos with and without flash, to show more detail.
