Original 6th plate daguerreotype, important looking bearded man by the Root brothers, Marcus and Samuel. Mat is stamped in the bottom right corner: "M.A. & S. ROOT 353 BROADWAY N.Y."
Dag is in very good condition, with its original seals still intact. The underside of the glass is dirty, and under magnification it seems that nearly all of the specks are on the glass.. I see one tiny mold spider on his beard.. no scratches or swipes, and the image is clear and sharp. Full, complete case that's overall very good but the covers are separated along the spine.
