Two original quarter-plate tintypes of either a little girl, or a little girl and a boy (siblings), one with their hands tied. Written inside one of the cases is a name and date: Mary Mayo Tolman, July 31, 1866. Research confirms that Mary was born on October 8, 1863 in Roxbury, Massachusetts, and died on July 31, 1866, in Northfield, Vermont. I can't tell positively if both photos are Mary; she had a little brother named Adams Tolman, who was born on April 15, 1862 in Massachusetts, but I was unable to find a date of death.. could be him. One of the mats is stamped with the photographer's name: R.M. McIntosh, who operated out of Northfield, Vermont. Tintypes are a little dark with oxidation, as shown, but visible. Apart from that they are in very good condition with no bends or other damage. The case is is about 4.75" x 3.75". FREE shipping by boxed & insured Priority Mail.
