Ninth-plate daguerreotype, pretty woman in mourning dress, mat stamped Anson (New York) in lower-left corner.

She is not identified here, however, I own another daguerreotype which identifies her as Cornelia "Nellie" Marcy Pendleton. This dag was probably taken in 1857, and she was dressed in mourning for her father, William Learned Marcy, who died on July 4 of that year.

The dag comes in half of a case. It's unsealed with a tarnish ring and some random corrosion spots.
