Original sixth-plate daguerreotype of a woman and her children. Identified by a note inside of the case as Susan Wilson Cross, wife of James Edgar, and her children William and Mary.
Susan was born on June 15, 1824 and died on June 14, 1900, one day before her birthday. She's buried at Round Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Cross Roads, Pennsylvania. Mary is in her lap and was born in February 1855, which dates this daguerreotype to about mid-1855.
Dag has tarnish, dirty glass, and is in half of its original case, but there is no damage that I can see, and the original seals appear to be intact.
