Original quarter-plate daguerreotype of a man, mat stamped JACOBS, N.O. in the bottom-left corner. Full case. Appears to be in very good or excellent condition apart from a spot or two of tarnish; the plate is set back from the mat a bit, so the edges were probably bent slightly up, preventing mat abrasions. Any smudges seen in my pics are on the glass. Dag is no longer sealed .... the original seals have dried up and broken apart.. there are some bits remaining inside the back of the case, but not much.
