RARE pair of original images, a very hard to find CDV of Laura Bridgman reading a raised letter book, along with a second image, a 1859 ninth-plate ambrotype photo of her brother John Downer Bridgman.
The CDV has a studio imprint of Silsbee, Case & Co of Boston. Dimensions are approximately 4.25" x 2.25". The ambrotype includes the three pieces of paper shown - they have been placed back in the case behind the ambrotype. On one piece of paper in period handwritten ink is, "Jno. D. Bridgman June 1862". Housed in its original union case with manufacturer's label inside. The ambrotype is in undamaged condition behind mat and glass. The case is in very good to excellent antique condition and measures 3 1/8" x 2 3/4" closed.
