Original 1870s leather album with 56 original cartes de visite depicting mostly religious and biblical scenes.

I have not seen many of these CDVs before - they are rare for CDV art images. The album is complete, with 14 double-sided pages, and ALL of the CDV slots filled.

The CDVs appear to be in excellent condition from what I can tell, not having been touched in a long time. I slid a handful out of the album and found them all to be near mint, so I assume the rest are as well, with no hidden issues... by all appearances they appear to be in excellent condition.

The album is about 8.5" x 6". The decorative pages are in overall very nice antique condition. It's missing its clasp and the spine is detaching, though the album still remains in one pretty solid piece.
