Original circa 1899 cabinet card showing a young artillery soldier with his rifle, fixed bayonet and ammo belt. Crossed cannons insignia on his kepi along with a "20". 6.5" x 4.25". No imprint on the back, but in pen somebody wrote, "Richard Dawes, Spanish-American War".

I believe this young soldier was Richard Dawes, born February 10, 1881 in Kansas, died in Rome, New York in 1967. I found draft registration cards for Dawes for WWI and WWII (age 61). Light diagonal crease, otherwise a nice image.
