Original circa 1890 cabinet card photograph of a nun,
from the Queen of Angels Monastery in Mount Angel, Oregon.
Photographed by F.A. Grimm. She is not identified, but
somebody associated with the Benedictine Sisters in Mt.
Angel messaged me with an ID: she was Sr. Elizabeth Tries,
who was born in Switzerland in 1874 and died in 1969.
Apparently some sisters there still remember her! Amazing!

The Queen of Angels Monastery was founded in 1882 by Mother
Bernardine Wachter, who led a group of Sisters and postulants
from Switzerland to Oregon. Their monastery was completed in
1888, just around the time this photo was taken.

Slightly larger than the typical cabinet card, at about
6.75" x 4.5" with blank back. Good antique condition with
edge/corner wear and light surface wear.. no creases.
