Two original CDVs, still in their album pages. Along the top of the album page in period pencil is written:

"The people who took Cadwallader from Maysville, KY., because of "underground railway". and along the bottom:

"Mr. & Mrs. Anderson (intimate friends of Grandmothers)".

I believe Grandmother in this case was Amelia Cadwallader, an abolitionist, early women's rights activist, and friends of Susan B. Anthony. She was also the wife of the photographer John Cadwallader. Mrs. Anderson's CDV has the imprint of Toledo, Ohio photographer E.H. Alley, Mr. Anderson's is blank.

The CDVs are in excellent antique condition, 4" x 2.5" each. They will be shipped in their album pages, as shown.
