Original c.1864 CDV of an older African American man, seated with walking stick. He is identified on the back as James Grove or Groff, but I believe, based on research, that his name might have been Jim/James Gines, a former escaped slave who lived in Pennsylvania and died around 1864/1865. The Library of Congress has another example of this image in their collection.
CDV is 4" x 2.5" and is in very good antique condition.
