Early-1840s, 1/9 daguerreotype in full, hinged leather case. The dag is behind cover glass, and the case is in excellent condition. The plate is in overall very good condition with a few small & short scratches around the top and bottom edge... these do not detract from the image. It's snug inside of the case, so I have never removed it.
