Original 1869 CDV of Isaac Sawtell, known as the "Yankee Doodle Whistler" in Boston at that time. He was a street person a seller of shoes, leather, clothing and anything he could make a buck on. His whistle signaled that he was in the area and had goods on him. He was convicted of r^pe in 1876 and in 1880 he killed his own brother in Maine. While awaiting the gallows in 1891 he suffered an opium induced stroke and died.
CDV is 4" x 2.5" and in very good antique condition.
