1/6 plate tintype behind at and cover glass. Civil War soldier, probably from Tennessee since this was out of a Tennessee estate. Another tintype from the same lot that this came out of were identified as members of the Tillman family of Fayetteville, Tennessee. With some light research I found a record for a Colonel James Davidson Tillman from Fayetteville, as well as his brother Lewis Tillman (b. Nov 1845) who also served... either is a possibility, I suppose.
Tintype is in half of a case with some scratches and abrasions. I took a couple of photos with flash to show detail and reduce glare.
