Large 1860s photo album partially filled with original CDVs and tintypes. The owner of the album was John North Main (1841-1901) who was a Civil War soldier, a Signal Corps Officer in the 23 Connecticut Infantry. At least three of soldiers in this album, including a 1/9 plate tintype are of him. There are one or two other soldiers as well.
I counted 79 or 80 original photos total. I am NOT counting the period paper prints of the Generals. The album is complete and has room for 200 total.
I did not check every single photo but the ones I did see were mostly from Connecticut cities, where Main lived. There were some New York and I did also see several Civil War revenue stamps.
Some of the photos I saw were slightly trimmed, some were not, otherwise they appear fine. If there are any specific images you'd like me to slide out and take a photo of let me know.
