Sixth-plate daguerreotype of a little boy standing on a chair, holding what looks to me like a toy sword over his shoulder - I think I see a guard where his hand is gripping. Possibly a member of the Piktin / Slocum family of New York / Pennsylvania.
Dag is in half of a case with its original seals still intact. The underside of the glass is a bit dirty but the plate looks to be in excellent condition. Cleaning it will improve the sharpness and clarity.
