Sixth-plate late-1840s daguerreotype in half of a case. Woman who was originally holding a small child or possibly a child standing next to her, that was deliberately scratched out of the image at some point. Overall this unsealed dag is in fair to good condition with tarnish and scratches. The cover glass and mat will fall out if turned face down.. should be taped / sealed together when possible.
