Very rare, original CDV of Reverend Lumas / Leumas Hoyt Pease, Chaplain, 44th NY Vols, Ellsworth Zouaves. He is not identified on this photograph but on the album page. This listing is for the CDV only, the album page is NOT included.
Bio: Graduated Williams College, 1835, Theological Institute of Connecticut, 1838, ordained by Albany Presbytery, 1843. Also studied at Andover and Union Seminarys. Traveled three years in Europe and Asia, and worked 3 years in East Hampton, CT. Settled in Edinburg, NY until the war when he became chaplain of Ellsworth Zouaves, 44th Regiment, New York Volunteers. After the war worked as a seaman's chaplain at New Orleans under American Seamen's Friend Society.
CDV is 4" x 2.5" and in very good overall antique condition.
