6th plate daguerreotype of an older couple, with a note inside saying it was taken at Davis' Art Gallery on July 20th 1868! That's very late for a daguerreotype, almost stretching into the 1870s. There must have been only a small handful of daguerreotype photographers at that time... I can't personally recall seeing a later dag than this that wasn't from the "revival" period. It is additionally signed "F.A. Adams", which might be the man in the photo or a photographer working for Davis' Art Gallery. This is not a studio I'm familiar with, but this dag came out of a Montana estate.
Dag is in very good condition with tarnish. It's unsealed, in full case with separated covers.
