Rare original cabinet card of the famous merchant Horace Brigham Claflin of the Manhattan-based H.B. Claflin & Company dry goods business. At one time, Claflin was the richest person in the United States. This photo offered here was the one used for Claflin's likeness by the engraver Louis Delnoce for the American Bank Note Company.
This is a very hard to find image, taken by Gardner of Brooklyn in the early-1880s.
Cabinet card is 6.5" x 4.25" and in very good antique condition.
