CDV of a young woman with several objects at her feet, including a ball of yarn, and a sign that reads, "Nothing Without Labor". She is holding a pencil or pen between her toes!
Written on the back is, "Compliments of your old Harrisburg friend, Lizzie". I believe her name was Lizzie L. Sturgeon, she had limited to no use of her arms, but was able to write, knit, and create objects with her feet, like Ann E. Leak, although I believe images of Lizzie are even harder to find. She definitely appeared in sideshows/circuses in the 1890s, not sure if she was doing so yet at the time this photo was taken (c.1880).
CDV is overall in VG antique condition with the bottom of the mount being slightly trimmed. About 4" x 2.5".
