Late-1840s, 1/6 plate daguerreotype of The Greek Slave, a sculpture by the famous American artist Hiram Powers. A reminder that dags are mirror images of the original subject.

Very good or better antique condition, with no damage of any kind noted. Housed in its original leather case, which is also in VG condition with separated halves. I have never removed this dag from its case so I am unsure is it’s still sealed or not.. I’m guessing that it probably is.
